The former convent of Our Lady of Eem is a monumental building complex surrounded by a park and woodland. It is an imposing complex developed in 1932, by the architect B.J. Koldewey, with small additions up to the 1950s.
The special and monumental character of this “Gesamtkunstwerk” of yesteryear obliges EarthY in collaboration with its project partners Plegt-Vos and ABC Planontwikkeling to develop a dignified perspective. Due to its enclosed location – partly due to the Bernhard Barracks – the Eemklooster has the equivalent of a small enclosed neighborhood on its 12.5-hectare site with 25,000 m2 of building. The enduring and sustainable future of this “neighborhood” as well as social cohesion and lively use is essential. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
With the presentation of the Elaboration Vision to the Amersfoort Municipality in mid-2024, EarthY ended its cooperation with its project partners and exited as a shareholder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
