Residential tower Salix will be the new residential tower in Meerhoven, Eindhoven, with a highly sustainable, affordable and social character. The plan for the residential tower in Meerhoven includes approximately 60 owner-occupied homes, including at least 48 homes in the mid-priced segment (up to the NHG limit). In the residential tower are four “neighborhoods” of approximately 15 homes, within which there is shared indoor and outdoor space. The interpretation of these will be coordinated with the future residents so that they form a unifying character and.

Residential tower Salix will be the eye-catcher of park Meerland. With its gnarled sculptural form, Salix is a striking figure in the landscape. One of the special features of the building is the use of materials. In fact, the insulating facade elements consist of 99% straw and wood. The building will be flexible in design with stacked residential neighborhoods, composed of “tables” of structural concrete with an intermediate space of three layers each. This gap is then free to fill in with lightweight wooden and biobased infill.

Residential tower Salix is an initiative of architects|and|en, Bygg, Strotec and BIEB, in cooperation with EarthY Invest.
